Day 4 Open Thread

Welcome to the Day 4 Open thread. The big televised event on NBC today will be Snowboardcross, as defending Gold medalist Seth Westcott of Maine begins his quest to defend his title.

The day leads off with Women’s cross country, with Marit Bjoergen attempting to win Norway’s first Gold medal in Vancouver in the 10k.

On MSNBC, defending Gold medalist Canada’s women’s hockey team takes on Switzerland in Group A action.

See you in a half hour for the action.

12:00 – The debut of mens downhill comes up in 30 minutes.

12:57 – Just unseeded skiiers left in the women’s cross country, and it looks like Sweden will win their first Gold in the event since 1968.

1:17 – Seth Wescott and crew are out there on the snowboardcross right now,

1:20 – Folks I am going to have to drive back up to school. This probably will conclude the Day Thread but I will be back in force for the primetime and latenight.

Damn I missed the downhill debut, but where is the re-cap Fetch?

Yes some of us are off work and around today. I am due for a nap after having some re-heated Baja Fresh. 😀 They have good deals now if you want to save money and eat something different for once if you sign up via their website.

Franco and Fetch what are you drinking?

If we three were in the bar now the first round is on me but you better not skip out to be hooked to your fuckin’ cell phone the whole time.

I’ve been watching the cross country skiing all day. Who’s this Norwegian cock who talked a whole bunch of shit and he won’t even win a medal? Pettah Nortugg or something along those lines? They said he made the King of Norway wait for him one day and when someone came up to him and say the King is waiting he said “No, I’m the King!” I think he’s gonna finish 30th in this event.

    Paolo,
I’m not picky but if you start being a dick an order shots of blackberry brandy, I might have to off you.

I hope that Norwegian dude crashes and burns then acting like that. And we have to have Fetch talk to his people too and straighten that out.

No Franco none of that sweetshot action that might have been for last night with a hot date …let’s start with a round of manhattans on the rocks made with Knob Creek to get going on a strong foot then.

How is Fetch not back yet are you kidding? Downhill skiing at last with a Norwegian just now edging out Bode Miller! And more to come!

Fetch, I think for the home country they should just sing the anthem every time.

That girl did it memorable justice.

“America The Beautiful” is better than “The Star Spangled Banner” too I say.

One of my top 10 memories so far is Ray Charles singing it live on July 4 2000 in Washington DC on the Capitol Lawn.
