Canada Won’t Bid For 2018 Games

The hosts of the 2010 Winter Games think that just a one games break is too few before they bid again. The IOC recently opened bidding for the 2018 games, and Canada is unlikely to place a bid. 2022 remains a possibility, and the top city on Canada’s list is Quebec City, Quebec.

The top expected contenders for 2018 are Munich, Germany; Annency, France and Pyeongchang, Korea. This will be Pyeongchang’s third consecutive bid.

With Western Europe having the 2006 games, and Pyeongchang bidding for the third time, they could be the early favorites, since Asia has not hosted the Winter Games since 1998 Nogano.
